GRAPE FESTIVAL MERANO 2024

In addition to the parades, the Grape Festival is the perfect opportunity to savor local culinary specialties. Numerous stalls offer typical South Tyrolean dishes such as dumplings, speck, cheese, and sweet treats. A must-try for visitors is the “new wine,” freshly produced from local wineries and available only during this season. The festive atmosphere is further enhanced by live music, folk dance performances, and traditional shows, making the Grape Festival an unmissable event for those looking to experience the unique hospitality and cultural traditions of South Tyrol.

The Merano Grape Festival 2024, taking place from October 18 to 20, is one of South Tyrol’s oldest and most significant harvest festivals. Since 1886, locals have celebrated the end of the grape harvest with grand parades, music, and dance. The highlight is the grand parade on Sunday, where beautifully decorated floats travel through the streets of Merano, accompanied by marching bands, traditional shooting brigades, and folk groups in traditional Tyrolean costumes. The floats, lavishly adorned with flowers, grapes, and harvest goods, offer a captivating spectacle that attracts both locals and visitors.
